Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman, Director of the Psychology Department and Director of Center for Public Policy Research is at the University of California Davis. She was widely credited as the pioneer of modern studies of the memory of witnesses and also children's witnesses. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded many grants and has been honored with many national and international awards. She has collaborated with numerous government agencies and institutions around the globe on studies and policy issues pertaining to children who are people who are victims of the law. She currently serves as consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center located at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of numerous professional associations, including The Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychological Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). She was a founder member of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division and Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Family and Child Policies and Practice.
